Woolley and Clark - Belmont House

On the 1841 census my relative Philip Woolley is mentioned as living at Belmont House, Throwley, Kent. Also living there was Charles Job Clark.

Is it possible for someone to tell me what their occupations where please as i don't think they owned this house if it is the same place as
http://www.belmont-house.org.  Perhaps they where butlers??

Hi Lucy,

He's recorded as 'Ind', age 85. The household seems to be headed by a George Lord Harris, 55, occupation 'army'.
Quite large household and he's listed underneath a range of servants - maybe he was visiting?  :)

Of Independent means - able to support himself without working.

If you Google Belmont House, you will find a lots of information.

One of my Harris family was employed as a gardener there.
