1871 census surrey MARSHALL
« on: Thursday 27 September 07 19:11 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm looking for death cert for GEORGE MARSHALL. Bn 1811 have narrowed it down to between 1/4/1872 and 1881 census. Lived in Lambeth all his life but the most obvious death cert does not seem to be his. Another entry for Dorking district is the right age. Can someone please see if there is a George Marshall living in Dorking in the 1871 census. If there is then the entry is  not for my GM as mine alive and well in Lambeth at that time.
Thanks in advance for your help
Regards
Sandra

hi
apologies for the delay in replying.

yes the 1871 census info is the right family but they have no known connections with Dorking; but for want of any other reg deaths it may well be him

  :) Hi,

I don't have an answer to your query but I do have the name Marshall in my family tree and I was wondering if there was a connection.

My great grandfather was William Marshall
Born in 1831
Married Ann
She was born in 1833

There children were:-

Elizabeth born 1869

William George Oliver  born 1854/59
I am pretty sure it is 1859 as alot of the census records tie up with this date but no certificate found.
Employment: Compositor

Annie born 1863
Tailoress

George born 1867
Clerk

Henry born 1872
Clerk

Have more information if you think there maybe a connection.

Kind regards
Zena

Hi

No i don't think there is a connection as name and dates don't tie in with my Marshalls.

Best wishes
