James Ker of Collin
« on: Friday 28 September 07 12:18 BST (UK) »
James Ker married Jean Walker on the 28th. of January 1771 in the parish of Torthorwald, James is described as a tenant farmer of Collin,it is possible that the farm was Rigghead, maybe?. They had perhaps two sons ,the first was Thomas birthdate 19/12/1773 and James born in October 1771. Does anyone out there recognise them ,regards Stoop

Hi Stoop,

I don't have any connection and I haven't looked up your family BUT Rigghead is a farmin Collin which still exists.

They currently have an interesting line in sheep...

Good morning Pam thank you for your interesting response, this presents another opportunity in the near future for a trip north to take a photograph of the farm, with permission of course.Regards Stoop.
