absolutely...just hit the wee green scroll to the left under my avatar and ask away...but when returning my messages, don't hit reply until you have answered within the body of the personal message area...it should say "send"...anyway, you'll find out what I mean... ;D  J.J.

Herbert has moved next door in 1882 and writes a letter!

Don't see a Seaborn birth on BMD for Presteigne district,  but there's this possible if you ever find a tie-in...

Have not found anything at all on Jean Cruickshank ...so hopefully there is more information on that marriage cert!  It's a crap shoot as to what information people chose to relate, as it seems they had the option to give more info other than basic ...Did anyone know age or where she was born?
 J.J.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
....I have searched and searched for her on both censuses...none are local, and only a few in other Provinces...There is only one couple in Winnipeg in 1881...and if she is theirs she had to have been born within the 20 census years...
Boy I hope there is information on that cert for you...fingers crossed...
James Cruickshank & wife Jean Robertson
« Reply #15 on: Tuesday 23 October 07 16:09 BST (UK) »
The family search database has a bit of a glitch...it will look for Cruickshank if you look for crookshank but not so in the reverse.
If you put in Jean it will look find Jane  in U.K....but put in Jane and it shows  the Janes in all 3 censuses ...go figure??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So far here seems to be no sign of a Jane Cruickshank or parents
James Cruickshank & wife Jean ( nee Robertson)

In 1901 the only Jean I can find is this one by herself, in Toronto born Ont 1867 ....of Scottish descent so a little old to have 3 at that age...but she doesn't even show on the 1881 ::) ( maybe down as "Jane")

The only one without family 1911 is age 20 again in Toronto no info
http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/View.jsp?id=83040&highlight=16
She's a little young, but works for a children's hospital, so might not be ruled out...

There is a couple in Northern Manitoba, James & Jane but they are younger than Wm himself! as are any other James and Janes I found as couples...

Only one matches for a James "Crookshank" and wife Jane 1881 at all, in Barrie, Simcoe Ontario...

so you may be looking at a birth in Scotland or Ireland....

Maybe someone might have something for you on the ship's lists...  :-\ J.J.
