1891 and 1901 Census lookup for Mcleod in Greenock

Hi we have hit the proverbial brick wall - in positively identifying our G'parents.
We have zeroed-in on a Sarah McLeod, (b. 1870, Bracadale, Isle of Skye ) (appears on 1871 Bracadale Census)  (head -John McLeod, b. Bracadale, abt 1833 , shoemaker - spouse Margaret, b. abt 1833)
siblings -SARAH, Alexander, Donald, Marion, Sally, Roderick, Norman-Alexander, Rory, Peggy?  (10)
I am advised the family shows up in the 1901 census living at 29 Dempster St. in Greenock??
Would appreciate if someone could send me copies of 1881, 1891 and 1901 census (i?)  Thank you

To update. I have found your family on the 1881 census and can forward this information to you, however I see no sign of them in the 1891, 1901 even with the address you gave.

With mother Margaret's maiden name showing as McIntosh from the birth registrations of the children, this looks like her and one son Alexander in 1901:

Margaret McLeod 65, head, b. Skye, Inverness Shire
Alexander McLeod 20, Railway Fords Lecker, b. Sky Brockadale
Archibald McIntosh 50, brother, Shepherd Watchman, b. Skye, Fourlish

Had Sarah McLeod married by 1901, is this the line you are following?

I can see entries coming up for 29 Dempster St (29 entries show on Ancestry) but, as Lil confirmed, none with a Sky/Inverness-shire birth place.

There is an Alexander McLeod (35 b  Skye) married to a Marion (30 b Skye) in the 1901 census living at 8 Holmscroft St Greenock, Alexander is an AB Seaman, and there are no children listed.


These could be your relations also.

Thank you all, we have apparently been able to follow the Sarah McLeod, that I was researching (Born in Skye, 1870) through to a marriage (to Hamilton Marshall) in Greenock, 1891, giving birth to a daughter (Margaret Marshall) in 1893, then disappearing from the Greenock 1901 census, but possibly reappearing on the Bootle 1901 census, as married (?) to Edward George Hodgson, complete with a new daughter (Margaret Elizabeth - 3 mos.)?? Still do not know if this is the same person???. Note: E.G. Hodgson died 1905. We appreciate and thank you all, for your help and assistance, in getting us this far.
