Have a look at Michael Lay and Wife Margaret Lay 32 / 39 born County Cork on the 1881 census

Daugther Mary Ann born Blaina
Racel born Tredegar
William born Tredegar

This seems to chime with the Lee family.  I typed in Lee and Lay came up.  What do you think?

Ambly seems to have been side-tracked.

I had a look and the names match well in 1881, especially with Mary Ann's own daughter being Margaret in the later census.

Doesn't seem to fit as well.  The SPENCER family visiting is surely a red herring?

I have found a Spencer Jones on the 1881 Census:

Edward Jones Head Male 52 Caerlon Monm Double Tin Plate
Sarah Ann Jones Wife Fenale 47 Adersycar Monm
Spencer Jones Son Male 14 Potypool Monm
Miriam Jones Daughter Female 13 Seaton Cumberland

Rg11 5175/39 P2

This seems to fit with the 1891:

Head: Spencer JONES  24, Tinworker, b Pontypool
Wife: Mary Ann JONES 24, b Blaina,  Mon
Dau: Margaret Ann JONES 1, b Blaina,  Mon
