Hi guys

Am looking for any information on my 4x GGrandfather David Chalmers b abt 1776 Kirkwall, Orkney, have searched the Orkney births but no luck at all, he is listed as a mariner on his marriage cert to Jean/Jane Tait 1798 Kirkwall & St Ola.   he was 22 and she 16.
They moved to Leith between 1806 & 1915
1851 census has him in Edinburgh age 76 with his daughter Jane Winter as a retired mariner.
