One technique that I have used to find graves is to print out a list of all the war graves from the CWGC website then use that to "decode" the numbering system i.e. find a war grave then look up its reference number, do that for a few graves and often you start to see some logic to the system.

See if there are any war graves listed near the grave that you are looking for as they can be easier to spot but a warning, not all war graves have CWGC headstones.

Also worth trying EMailing the office, they vary in helpfulness but I received a full plan by EMail from one within the hour when I asked about some locations.

Hi,

If you need more detaiil, phone Inverclyde Council - Parks department I think.  They should be able to give you directions.  And probably for a small fee, can tell you who is buried in your plot, and who the plot owner is (was?)

Thanks Grey Seagull
I think I know where it is now
I inherited the title deeds from my Dad
when he died the names on the title deeds
are Daniel Given and Solomon Given
but I think there may be someone else in there with them
our family weren't very good at visiting the cemetery
not like me
