I have sopmebody that is born in New Monkland, and i have a few possibles.

Can anybody tell me if these Parishes are in New monkland

Melrose
Dalgetty
Montrose
Lauder
Barony
Ardrossan

No, Laura, none of these are near New Monklands, New Monklands or Airdrie are in Lanarkshire.

Melrose is in the Scottish borders
Dalgetty is in Fifeshire
Montrose..Angus
Lauder........Berwickshire
Barony........Glasgow
Ardrossan.......Ayrshire

Laura, I can check the index for 1851 census for Newmonklands, my library has it in booklet form,  she should be with her parents then.

I have two Euphemia Paterson's born Newmonklands in my tree, but unfortuneatley they don't fit  in with your time scale

This was the only Euphemia Paterson born about 1841 in index.

Walter Paterson age 31 born Clackmannanshire
Agnes age 33 born Stirling
Euphan (female) age 10 born Airdrie
Christina age 8 born Airdrie
David age 10 months born Airdrie
