Help with hand writing

Can anyone help.

The attached file notes at the end the Emmanuel Gillard was Invalided.  Can anyone read where or what too?

? Fens???

Unable to find a death record for Emmanuel Gillard so hoping that we can dicipher the attached.

To be honest, I can't make it out. But from the context, I wonder if it's not a "where" but rather a doctor (or officer) signture and a date. They pensioned him off, and maybe were not concerned where to.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. It's something pension, I think. Not invalid, but along those lines. There's four of us here in this house now trying to work this out. Our guests think it's very unusual after dinner entertainment!

This has driven my wife round the bend for the last 18 months she has hand searched all the bmd with no death record.  And a clue to the name or signature would be her next port of call.

Food eaten and OH in kitchen tidying up. Guests drinking coffee and asked how tree was doing (close friends!) I showed them the site, and guests looked at the question - the next thing is we're all poring over it.  ;D
