1871/Retford/John BELCHER

Hi!!
Would somebody kindly check the 1871 census in Retford, Notts. for:
John Belcher, born c. 1809 in London (possibly Notting Hill, may come under Middlesex). My reason for asking is that John and his wife Mary's first child named Edwin was born in 'Belford, Notts.' in 1871 accoridng to the 1881 census. However, I can find no mention of a Belford existing in Notts. However (again!!) the birth of an Edwin Belcher is registered in East Retford (Retford) in 1870 so, assuming that the Edwin registered is my John and Mary's son, it may be reasonable to assume that John Belcher is in Retford in 1871.

Have checked against Notts registration areas etc. and birthplace looks like Ordsall (east Retford RD) - have amended above.

I have checked FreeBMD for a John Belcher marrying a Mary Jane, an the only reasonable entry is 1870 in St. George Hanover Square London (Mary Jane Fitzwalter). Some time in the near future I will order Edwin's sister Emma Laura Belcher's birth cert to clarify the situation. Emma is my GG Grandmother whom married James Burke, the son of Francis Burke aka Farrell Burke and Mary Dacey of whom we have been discussing recently.
