Looking for Joseph Farrow and his wife Mary Ann on any census please.

They married in Halesworth, Suffolk on the 4th April 1827.

One of there children was Caroline. She was christened in Framlingham.

that was 1851 by the way.I seem to have missed out Jane aged 8 in 1841.Have gone back and checked.

You've done a grand job there Yonderpeasant, but can I be cheeky and ask you, are they on the 1861 as I think there may be MORE children

the writing is vile but apart rom the last two can at least be deciphered.

I think I can see a couple of the older children so I will give them to you in a while

Well Close Square isn't a square - more like a triangle! and it runs all the way down to Albert Place - so it is also a street name.

In White's of 1844 Joseph is listed as a tailor, draper and hatter of Well Close Square, but the main Tailor, draper and hatter in Well Close Square would have been George Clodd (of Clodd and Larner). 

There is an interactive map at www.poppyland.co.uk showing trades at the time of 1901 census.  If you check for Tailor - John Self, I think your Farrow might have been in those premises.

there is a nice little photograph on their home page of the building today, not much has changed

Marian is Mariannna on marriage and presumably Mary Ann on the 1851 but they are having no truck with fancy names.
