I would be very greatful if anyone is able to do anything with this photo but i fear it might be to far gone

Here is my try.

If you can rescan it at 300-600dpi I am sure you will get better restores.

Scan at 300 plus for restores please. Scan at larger dpi for small photos. Don't forget to crop the scanner bed out! (Them's the white bits)
