Spendiff Cooling Kent

I understand there is a Hamlet in or near Cooling in Kent called Spendiff. I wonder if anyone might have some information on this hamlet or advice on who to contact about it. I would particularly like to know the earliest date the hamlet crops up in records. There is a record on Cityark dated 1943.
