« on: Friday 12 October 07 05:48 BST (UK) »
Hi, Is there anyone trying to trace the Standfield family of Grays, Essex.
The period I am interested in is the late 1800's to mid 1900's.
Many thanks, Smarts1.

Hi Pam,
Very many thanks for your reply and some details.
I have to come clean here, I do know a lot about this Standfield family from John Standfield born 1805 (in Ireland actually) to the present day.
But my posting here was prompted by a query by DavidsBrother" and replied to by "CaroleW" in respect of Harry Standfield born 1889 (died 1967) who married Florence in Grays, Essex and they later separated.
We are trying to find out more about his life and maybe someone who had direct knowledge of him through their family.
I thought maybe we could 'speak' with the person "DavidsBrother" if he himself had now gathered such knowledge.
Do thankyou for the detail about William Standfield who we have not been able to 'find' since his birth in 1832.
William would have been Harry's Great Uncle or so.
Cheers,
Smarts1

Hi Pam,
October is generally wet for us, dryer next month - reason we are so green !
I am away Wednesday for several months, my summer hols being retired, you see.
Thankyou for those details, we originally had William married to Amelia (and with daughter Amelia) but for some reason we discounted it.
And the age difference.
William was born in Kings Newnham, Warwickshire.
To John and Mariah, several siblings.
He had a brother John who was a famous Civil Engineer in London - things we find out about family as well as the bad sometimes.
Wanted to get this away to you before shut down for today.
Cheers, Ron.
