Hi Grub,

thanks for those. I'm not altogether sure they are the correct Robert Williams though. In the 1881 census, he was listed as aged 20. That would make him 30 in 91, and not 42/43. It may well be that he had moved out of the area by 91.
I agree with the logic of 2 and 3, but with no 1, his eldest daughter is 9, that would mean born in 1882, which although possible, I don't know how likely considering he was single in 1881.
Anyway, as far as your Welsh goes - da iawn.
Caer Waun is correct; Mo...shire could be Montgomeryshire, Meirionethshire or Monmouthshire .

Sorry about that miscalculation.
I had a look for Robert with the corrected age.

There are 2,187 Robert Williams listed in Wales in 1891, several of about the right age, but at this point, I don't find the correct one.

It is interesting that others on the same page listed their occupation as Farmer of xx acres/quarryman.
