The Itinerary for the Swansea 2007 RootsChat Meet

"A visit to the National Waterfront Museum will be unlike any visit you've ever made to any other museum. Ever."

Saturday 17th November:

9:45-10am (for the 'Early Birds') meet at the main entrance (the one facing Swansea Town centre - note that there are two entrances!) of  The National Waterfront Museum. Oystermouth Road, Maritime Quarter, Swansea SA1 3RD. Get directions HERE.

Go around the Glamorgan Family History event.

1pm - Lunch
Meet at the Waterside Cafe of The National Waterfront Museum for a spot of lunch.

After lunch look at the exhibits of the National Waterfront Museum.

3pm Swansea Museum Meet Inside Main Entrance Free entry.
Swansea Museum, Victoria Road, The Maritime Quarter, Swansea. SA1 1SN.

Just round the corner from the National Waterfront Museum

The collections contain all kinds of objects from the past of Swansea, Wales and the rest of the world. They have everything from an Egyptian mummy to a Welsh Kitchen, displayed in six galleries. There are also many changing temporary exhibitions each year. It is a fascinating treasure house of Swansea's past history."


5pm - onwards - meet for a drink and a meal a bit later.

Tonight's Evening Post advises that the Glamorgan Family History Society will be holding an event for family history on November 17th and 18th from 10am to 4pm at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.

This event will feature representatives from the West Glam archives and Glam. record office, while Brian Richards will give details about his website about Swansea Mariners.

Anyone going?  :)

I'd be interested in going if others are up for it.
I went last year to one they held there.
They had some interesting stuff - and the setting of the museum was very nice.
