Middleship, Monmouth?
« on: Friday 24 December 04 14:51 GMT (UK) »
Anyone ever come across the name Middleship in Monmouthshire.  A London census shows a Middleship born in Monmouth in the 1780's.  Since it is such an unusual name I'm wondering if that's where mine came from.
Family search shows one or two in Wales or the borders but nothing in Monmouth.
Cheers,
Charles

I have not heard that place name.

It is not listed on the Genuki site either: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/MON/parishes.html#M

Hello Jen,

Actually it's a person name but thanks for looking.
I discovered that in fact the person I was looking for didn't come from Monmouth after all.

Cheers and thanks again though
