Found a strange little VIVEASH cluster at Newtown, Bradford, Wilts in 1841 HO107 Piece: 1166 Book/Folio:1/54 Page: 9

nk VIVEASH age nk [recorded in female column] Labourer
ditto [recorded in male column]
ditto [recorded in female column]
ditto [recorded in female column]

I note that Joseph was a Widower aged 78 at Bedwyn Common in 1861, but seasonal work accounted for many menfolk away from home in June 1841, when a frame by frame search revealed Sarah VIVEASH 58 and Emily 20 at Bedwyn Common on page 12, the page before the Edward RUSHENT family.

Many thanks dee jay. Could you send me details of the 1861 census for Joseph Viveash please? I take it that you haven't found Joseph in the 1841.

Many thanks

My pleasure, Graham.

Don't suppose that little booklet on Great Bedwyn mentions James HISCOCK who married Ann BUSHELL 13 Jun 1831?  ;D

Many thanks, Graham.  I can at last attribute a parish to that James HISCOCK and 'put him to bed', so to speak.

Hello Graham,

I know this is a very old thread but if you are interested I have quite a bit of information on the Vivash/Viveash family of Great Bedwyn. Joseph was in Corsham in 1841 labouring on the new railway probably. As were his sons William and Thomas. The family spent quite a bit of time in London and Thomas was transported to Australia in 1843. It's a very interesting story.

Thanks.

Carl
