trying to find maiden name of my great grandmother emma wiggins, married to james e wiggins and in the 1901 census was aged 44 and shown as being born in devon at west down?, at the time of the census was living in paget street penarth,  trying to get tree together for son in australia. any help appreciated.

basing this on the age of oldest kid in 1901, they prolly married late 1870s ..... need to scout around for a marriage if Emma doesnt show up in Devon in the 1871 census ....

The 2 Ackland sisters (scholars) are Boarders with a Mary Dunn in Ilfracombe in 1871 ...

A likely marriage of Henry Ackland has 2 female names not yet transcribed, so that maiden name will have to be sought by other means  :)

thanks a lot newfy, looks like I am at last getting close to my other half (splottboy) he was streets ahead at one time, and if I had waited for him I would still be in the 19hundreds. any chance of finding maiden names of  henry acklands wife, harriet, and his father (hugh) wife mary, then I,m back to what looks like the late 17hundreds. as hugh I think was born in 1796, wow that would be real one upmanship. thanks in advance.
