My wife is a Peppard and a history of the Peppards in Nova Scotia was done, and George is related. A complete history was done by Albert Peppard " The Peppard People" ISBN 0-9697680-0-1

It chronicles Lawrence Peppard 1737-1819.

I've just seen this thread for the first time.  I have come across Peppards/Peppers in researching my O'Brien relatives.  One of the family graves in Goldenbridge Cemetery in Dublin contains the remains of Mary Pepper of Harold's Cross who died 23 January 1839 aged 21 and Frances Peppard, also of Harold's Cross,  who died 6 April 1851 aged 30.  I'm wondering if anyone researching Peppards/Peppers has come across an O'Brien link, especially one with Harold's Cross connections.

Kalishoek, any O'Brien linked with the Dublin Peppards you mentioned?

I remember reading that George Peppard had traced his ancstry back to Drogheda, Co Louth.  Peppard was a prominent name in Drogheda in the middle ages and Peppards are listed as Mayors of the town.

Yes there is a tree :  http://www.geni.com/people/George-Peppard/6000000022133272010

Hi all,

My family "history" has always had the story that George Peppard is related to my mothers side of the family (Peppards).  Does anyone have a family tree for George Peppard.  I have tried all of his websites and although he was of Irish descent I have ever come across his family tree.  It would be great to prove or disprove this family story once and for all.

Rory

I believe George descended from Lawrence Peppard, son of Thomas Peppard and Susan Reynolds (Louth, Droheda, Ireland). Lawrence settled in Londonderry, Nova Scotia in 1767.

The Peppards were contemporaries of the De Angulo but not related from my research. Both families built castles and were” aristocratic mercenaries “, as the Historian Curtis called them.
Peppards were English , De Angulo were Welsh Norman’s . They were from Angle in Pembrokeshire, and founded MacCostelloe, Nangle, Nagle, Jordan, MacWaltrin( Waldron), macPhilbin, MacPhillips septs, to name a few!
Costelloe, Whelan, Sheil,  Donohoe, Dwyer, Flanagan, Fahy, Hickey,East Galway:
 Graham, Williamson, Carmichael; Armagh
Boyne, Russell, Kearns, Moore, Carty,  Dublin 2, Trinity Ward, Westland Row

My own family are the de Angulo/Nagle clan , my research has evidence that Peppard was a de Angulo also, and like Costello and Jordan, used their first names to found clans & septs of their own. As per the descriptions of the de Angulo originating from Angle in Pembrokeshire, this is true also, however the town was named after the family and not vice versa, as they originally come for a small town near Evreux in Normandy called , nowadays St Germain des Angles. The de Angulo were closely associated with and related to the de Lacy family, and established at least two Templar preceptories at Kilbixie and at Monanimy
