History is a bit sketchy but I thought the 1755 map by Stow was worth a link. You can select high definition (1.6Mb) and adjust your print settings to landscape and adjust the margins  to 1.5mm all round and you get a reasonable copy

The cemetery is called Bunhill Fields, right in the middle.  I know that because I have been looking at burial records for Bunhill Fields on findmypast and not knowing where it was.

shall have to go and have a look for Pest House, not one I've heard of before  ???

Hi earleybird
I found the map and have tried lots of things to make it readable. How do I change it to high definition please? i can't find anything like that on the sotfware I use - not good one - firegraphics, and better is Irfanview (suggested on this site for getting photos sorted for putting on here).
could you help me please?
Thank you

this link

will take you to the high definition map

if you are using internet explorer 7, in the bottom right hand corner of the browser window is a magnifying glass (usually set at 100%) you can change the magnification by clicking on the little black triangle and then selecting the magnification you want

cheers,
