Hi Kerry,I see you are reseaching Luke. my Grand Aunt, Elizabeth M Luke nee Palmer was married to Robert Luke b1873 at Coxhoe, Durham. He was a miner and served with the Royal Engieers in WW1. Is this family info of use to you? Geoff

i have miners in my family from 1668 from cumbria then some moved to durham in 1800
looking for info on the pearson family
as there are some from cumberland that went to houghton le spring or to hetely hole
some of the family were born in durham from 1866 to 1875 then went to wickham
strong/stimpson/mccarrick/pearson/sparrow/parker/howd/johnston/baron/barron/

Anthony - I think that you are referring to 'Hetton-le-Hole' and not 'hetely hole'.

Mining was one of the biggest employers in Durham once. Most of my Durham rellies were miners.
