joseph dobson and mary a ?

Does anyone have access to marriage records please?

My grandfather Joseph Dobson of somewhere in Leeds, married a Mary A ? who was born in Milnthorpe/Haverbrach/Sandside (according to the various censuses)  Both were born in approx 1844/45 and their first daughter was born in 1871 or 1872.  I have them on the 1881 census and cannot trace them before that - thought a marriage might help me at least find out Mary A's surname. 

I'd be very grateful of any leads at all.  Thank you!!

Do you have the birth certificate for the daughter Mary E Dobson??  That would tell you the mothers maiden name

I sent off to the GRO for Mary E's birth cert - they couldn't find it!

So Joseph was born Leeds according to census Yes

Mary A (wife) born Westmoreland Yes

I have a birth cert for an Alice Dobson too - born in 1884 in the Kimberworth area of Rotherham, but she is the daughter of George and Ann Dobson.  She was the only Alice I could find, in the right area with the right date - but seems to be the wrong one.

I've checked various bmd's on several sites and the one I've found that looks most promising is

although it's pretty early

Yes, Leeds (but don't know more than that - just what it says on the 1881)  and Westmorland - Milnthorpe, Sandside, Haverbrach on the 3 different censuses ('81,'91,1901)

Yes, I found that one too - but that would make them very, very young and no kids for another 11 or 12 years, seemed unlikely to me.

I am looking now for a Mary A born 1845c in marriages in Westmoreland

I also did a look for Joseph in earlier census born in Leeds, I found one in a large house, some of the people are travellers?  Can you remind me what Joseph did as a living

Added  also saw the 1891 and daughter Mary is born 1880, and not 1872 as stated earlier, wonder if one has died and they had another daughter and gave her the same name, unless I have read the wrong one - possible
