Record Office visit today.
« on: Tuesday 23 October 07 21:43 BST (UK) »
I have had a really good day today research and weather wise.

My daughter and i spent some time wandering around St.Mary's church, me with camera in hand snapping any headstone that looked a possability!! I'll have to look through them later and see if i can 'claim' any.

Some months previously someone kindly sent me several photos of  Copperwheat headstones there and it was great to see the actual headstones for myself.

After lunch came a visit to the record office where i was able to verify quite a few bits of info i had gathered.

All in all a successful day out.  Poli  ;D

Glad you had a good day Poli :D
I'm looking forward to next week when I will be spending a couple of days in the RO - with pretty well everyone from my mum's side being from Beds, I should be busy!

Hello Poli,   I'm a regular visiter to the Records Office (well when I can get there - they don't open at weekends). Glad you found them helpful - I always do. Did you speak to Trevor - we used to work together at WH Allens computer dept many years ago. I hope to get there next Wed 31st afternoon to look at BMD microfiche- just in time to go home & turn into a werewolf - it's Halloween.  Cheers John

Hi John, I spoke to a couple of people working in the office, don't know which one was Trevor though.

I wish i could get there more often, that was only my second visit. When i think of all the 'clues' just sitting there waiting to be found!!!  Poli.
