Patrick Henry
« on: Wednesday 24 October 07 15:08 BST (UK) »
Patrick Henry born circa 1817. Married to Bridget (she may have come over later as she doesn't appear until the 1861 census here). Moved to Lancashire sometime before 1851 as they appear on that census.

Would Sligo as a place of birth imply Sligo the county or town does anyone know?
Also, where do I go now please?  ???

Hi Sligo is a county for her place of birth you will need a Parish in Sligo,or even a Townland. :)

Lep is correct but since civil registration of births didn't begin until 1864 you will need to look for church records after you've been able to narrow down the location to a parish or even better a townland.

Hi there the answer you got from Aghadowey is true.
But to help you understand what you are up against. Regarding Townland and Parish.
I know this is after the time you want.
Go to www.failteromhat.com search by surname Henry. and also click in Sligo.

Were any children born in England to get Bridget's maiden name?
