'Laurence' family history
« on: Wednesday 24 October 07 19:51 BST (UK) »
I am researching the Laurence family history in Bedford from 1900.
If anybody has any information regarding the surname 'Laurence' from around the Bedfordshire/ Hertfordshire area i would be very interested.

Hi Steven
Welcome to Rootschat :D
In 1901 there are only 9 Laurence/Lawrence in Bedford, all but one is in Bedford St Paul - do you already have their details?

There are lots of places to get your research kick started...

Look at the free BMD too

Try the Beds Archives on-line search engine [do a name search] @ http://blars adlibsoft.com/form.html

Hi Thank you for your information.
I have leads that direct me to the Portsmouth and Huntingdon area now instead of Bedford.
Thanks once again

Hi Steven,

My Lawrence branch is from Northamptonshire (Rushden, Higham Ferrers) and Huntingdonshire but originated in Bedfordshire. From memory, they were in Bedfordshire in the mid 1800's.

Let me know if you would like me to cross-reference any specific names. However, my response may not be swift! My family history is currently inhabiting various different places in my house and all needs pulling together! ;D

Good luck with your search :)
England, Bedfordshire: Lawrence
England, Cumberland: Trotter
England, Northamptonshire: Barritt, Bowland, Lawrence, Morris, Parsons, Sharman, Toseland, Tuckwood
