http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/details-result.asp?Edoc_Id=5085073&queryType=1&resultcount=4

Theres only 1 Nelson E Roberts  on the NA Medal Cards(thats not definate evidence its his card as if he never went abroad he wouldnt have a card)

Theres a Charles T Roberts also listed as 2364 Surrey Yeomanry id put money on that been Harolds brother the numbers are pretty close.

Theres 2x Percy F Roberts.

Hope this helps

Thanks mmm45

I'm not sure if this does help !!

These things raise more questions sometimes than they solve !

Are there service records in England that would detail nok dob etc etc.

So please expain what I do next to establish if these guys are the sons of the Frederick William Roberts 39 in 1901 census ?

If this is the Frederick William Roberts born 11th December 1861 - Peploe Street,Hoole,Chester (Son of Joseph & Ann Joule Roberts) Bingo !!!!!

He was recorded in 1871 & 1881 census (RG11/3702/40/14) in West Derby...but Clapham is in London I think..so he is a long way away in 1891 & 1901 census.

I'm really tracing this family because I think they are related to me !
So if the sons were all killed in WW1,it's unlikely there are any descendants left in England.

Once again thank you.

Hi Kimberly
Theres only one killed (Harold) in action the rest on this list  served and survived
The problem with British service records is that 2/3rds were destroyed by the Luftwaffe bombing them in 1940!! plus you need to visit Kew or pay a researcher to go see if they were amongst the ones who survived.
They would have NOK details on them.

The Medal Cards only show entitlement and maybe a bit of other info. But no addresses etc!

The Commonwealth War Graves site doesnt give next of kin for Harold

Another avenue is that there was A National Roll of Honour produced in volumes. It was pay per entry so not everyone who served is in it but there was one for London it has a small biography and addresses so theres a slight chance they may be in it...Someone online may have the London Volume.
