Great news for you.  I've had a reply from one of the Ancestry contacts and have PM'd you about that.  Why can't this family be mine?!!!

You're very welcome Sheila - I like a happy ending!!

A second contact from Ancestry called Julie has emailed me, so hopefully she will also be in touch with you soon.

Good luck with your future research.

Hi
I am doing some research for a friend - her grandmother was Mary Dalrymple  b 1868 in Northumberland - her great grandfather  William Dalrymple born 1839 in Northumberland.     William was the youngest son of Joseph and Mary Dalrymple.

Mary Dalrymple married Edward Ashman and in the 1891 census they are living with her parents William and Mary Dalrymple.

It's great to find more information to pass on to her as they are not easy to find on the censuses. Is anyone else tracing William?  William married Mary Hindmarch - and that's about all I have found so far for her.

 :)Hello there!
Could you tell your friend that we are related. Her grandfather was not the youngest child of Joseph and Mary, as , after William, they went on to have Sophia, Thomas, and Robert(my great grandfather born 23/January 1844 at South Farm Cottages, Cowpen. It would be great to be in touch with your friend.
There is also another rootschatter researching this family, her name on here is Gladys1. Im sure she would love contact too.
Regards

I will tell her - I am seeing her tomorrow and I am sure she will be thrilled - it's too bad she's not on the internet.
I see that someone has mentioned the Northumberland Marriage Index - is it online?
