Thanks leprechaun.

The links should be OK now. The directory pages are on the website ...

If anyone spots more broken links in my posts please let me know.

Thanks for posting that, Christoper.

By the way, if anyone needs me to look up someone in the 1885 Bassett's Wexford Directory, I would be happy to do so. Bur you need to know the townland to look in as there is no oeverall county index to the directory.

Hi Deb

In Bassett's Wexford of 1885 there is only one Neill listed in Coolgreany and no O'Neill.

He is listed as a farmer/landowner in Knockgreany and his name is M Neill. It is surely a man as the women have the "Mrs" prefix before their name.

The only other information which may be of interest is that the directory mentions that the population of Coolgreany was 176 in 1881 and is supposed to be over 200 in 1885. The lands of the district were good for pasture and tillage. Mr G F Brooke, of Celbridge, County kildare, is the landlord. The houses are slated and in good repair. Fairs were held on the 3rd Monday of each month.

hope this is useful.
