Spencer Street Board School
« on: Friday 26 October 07 22:07 BST (UK) »
Julie, I saw your offer to help Gordon with the Herts Advertiser. Please do you think you could possibly help me in this never ending saga of my Great Grandfather who was a schoolmaster at Spencer Street Board  School  Herts between  1870 & 1886.

Because he taught in a board school it should be possible to get a date when he & family moved out of their house , and details of his resignation and replacement,  also if his leaving was forced, the previous weeks papers are likely to give details of any trial , etc'.    The school board met once a month and the reports were published in the Advertiser.

I do hope you do not mind my asking Julie, and of course  if you think that my request would be too time consuming I'd understand.  If you could
possibly do this , whenever possible, in your own time, (after all he isin't going anywhere!)      or just keep my details by you and maybe notice something on your visits to the library I be ever so in your debt,    If you'd like to PM me to discuss anything,or even have any advice then please do..
                                           Best Wishes Dolly
