1841 and 1851 Look-up please, Samuel Thorpe - Completed with Thanks!
« on: Wednesday 31 October 07 13:36 GMT (UK) »
Hello everyone,

Can anyone spare the time to look up Samuel Thorpe in 1841 & 1851 please.

I believe he lived at Harvest Lane, Sheffield on both occasions and that his year of birth was around 1816.

He was a coal leader in 1856.

I am hoping that  in 1851 we will see him with daughter Mary born between 1839 and 1842.  She may, or may not, be on the 1841 return as I'm not sure of her exact year of birth.

Thank you!

Helen.

Hi Helen

I couldnt see an address for the 1851 census but looked at the census round for the area, and Harvest Lane is mentioned on that round, that the Thorpe family is on. District 10

Hi Ricky,

Thank you very much for your time.  It does all seem to fit, and I've been able to track quite a few ancestors on the IGI listing, so a double bonus.

I don't think it's too much of a problem that Elizabeth hasn't aged over a ten year period, I hope it's something I'll inherit as I'm coming up for my 39th next, and would like to keep it at that for the next 10!

Thanks again, it really is appreciated!

Helen
