Hogans of Banagher
« on: Friday 02 November 07 10:23 GMT (UK) »
Anyone researching Hogans in Banagher Co Galway and Co Offaly?

My Hogan`s lived in the Galway side of Banagher in Esker. They may also have lived on the other side of the Shannon -the Offaly (Kings County) side as they have ancestors buried in All Saints`Graveyard. south east of Banagher town.

A gravestone there takes the Hogan lineage back to Daniel Hogan with an approx. birth year of 1808.

Hi Limgal,

I've linked this thread to your Hogan of Banagher on the Offaly (Kings) board.

Thanks for that Christopher!

Since posting the above I`ve also found a lot more info on my Hogans on the www.leitrim-roscommon.com site. This is a little gem of a site albeit with a slightly misleading title. It has all the 1901 census transcriptions for Roscommon and Leitrim but also has someof Galway covered-notably my ancestors in Clonfert parish(including my Hogans).

It has also partially transcribed the 1901 census for other counties.

With that said, I`m still hoping to hear from anyone specifically researching Hogans of Banagher!
