I have to agree with jc if it was UK  but maybe Australia was a little later

Perhaps Aus was a few years behind on fashion, I know America was right up to the late 70s so it is possible.

I remember playing dressing up with my cousin is some of her mother's wonderful 40s dresses.   She was a glamorous lady,  wish I could have kept them - and the shoes!
My uncle has an embarassing cine film of us dressing up as 6 year olds
