Where is farlow churchyard??
« on: Sunday 04 November 07 13:32 GMT (UK) »
Ive been trying to find my grt grandmothers grave for nearly 2 yrs now, last night while looking at some old pics of my nans i found a piece of paper stating when my grt nan had died and where she is buried, farlow churchyard, my nan and her dad are burried at melville chapel on the main road past farlow, does anyone know if the churchyard still exists? my mum seems to think the church may have gone now as it was made of tin.
many thanks

Hi Kaz,

Farlow church and burial ground still exist.
See three photographs of Farlow and thirty two other churches in the Anglican Deanery of Bridgnorth, Shropshire on my web site;

http://grc2.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk

Shropshire Family History Society recorded all the headstones they could read in Farlow churchyard in 1993. Dates on the headstones cover the period 1861 to 1992. What name are you interested in?

Hi Kaz,

There aren't any CHARLES burials listed in the list of monumental inscriptions of St. Giles, Farlow as recorded by the Shropshire Family History Society.

The POYNER's listed are Alice, age 43, d. 1899. George, age 63, d. 1918. John, age 75, d. 1886 and his wife Sarah, age 65, d. 1886. Emma D. 1917. On the War Memorial - E Poyner K.S.L.I.

I have the monumental inscriptions for the surrounding Parishes.
At St. Peter's & St. Paul's church, Cleobury North;
William POYNER, age 71, d. 1906 and his wife Martha, age 86, d. 1922.
The Grandparents of Ada I assume?

Also at Cleobury North - Thomas POYNER, brother, d. 1935.
