My son/ex-wife have Yates/Yeats from Wiltshire. Mainly around Winterbourne Dauntsey and Earles. Emigrated to Australia in the 1850s

From southaustralianhistory.com.au the following on Angaston where William Yates gets a mention as being the person to start the Band in Angaston

There are Yates on my mothers side .I have dna matches & paper trail back to daughters of mariner/ waterman James Yates 1789 _1858

 he married mary Pegg and they had children in st oswalds chester :
son james 1822   
+7. daughters :
mary ann 1812; elizabeth 1814 .maria 1817 ellen 1820  jane 1821 margaret 1829  sarah 1834 .

 BAPTISM OF James senior b 27 may 1789 was base  son of single mother lucy YATES of BAGUELEY
 shw 1770 b Cheshire
Trees on Ancestry have  father as richard yates b 1750 +  mothers name was margaret died northenden Cheshire 1775  (unconfirmed)
