Mystery photo and names, Jedburgh (I think)
« on: Tuesday 06 November 07 05:01 GMT (UK) »
The photographer's name is on this group photo
R. Jack.  Underneath is the word Jedburgh, then a dot [.] followed by 2 or 3 other letters...maybe N something....

The photo is taken in the 1920's with the younger women showing some ankle to mid-calf and dropped waist dresses.

The only full name on the incsription is
Jessie Stedman,.  she is in her 20's

Among the others is the central figure named 'Grandfather' and he appears to be making a flowery rug!!!  He's got a big ball of wool and stick looking things.

Is this odd??

Questions/requests..

Has anyone any information on one Jessie Stedman?
Has anyone any information on the photographer?
I think the 'Grandfather' is a Blair, but as yet I do not know his given name.

The family is in an outdoor setting and appear 'comfortably off"

I know I should scan and post this, but I need support from more technically able to do this and as today is the day of the biggest horse race in Australia  help is just out of the question ::)

Very glad for any help.
Sue

PS.
Family rumour
Grandfather [whatever his name] had the first motor car in Scotland!
Well, maybe.
