The marriage index that the Northants Record Office use is
the Bollen-Bloore index that was complied on paper slips from the Bishops Transcripts.
As some years are missing from the BTs for most parishes there are many marriages missing from the index that can be found in the parish registers.

The Northants Marriage Index CDs were compiled using both the BTs and the parish registers.

Were there no relevant surviving Wills?

Please check out the site I have at www.tribalpages.com
[enter ''Lovellfamily'']

I can not see any immediate link to your family - but I have both LOVELL & WRIGHT there

Hi Catherine

I couldn't find any surviving wills. I've also had a look through your site and unfortunately can't find a match for any of my (known) ancestors.

It's a great site though and you've obviously been working on it for some time!

Many thanks for your help

Matt

Matt

I think the LOVELLs I have looked for were from Northants originally - they seem to have been going South.  The LOVELLs were Knights etc in Northant - certainly fallen on hard times in Bedfordshire!

I had a quick look in UK National Archives [Documents on line] and could see nothing relevant in Wollaston but you may like to check again...

Another avenue to research is looking in rootsweb.com [family at top of page] and narrow your search to Wollaston - there are people researching WRIGHT there but later than you  :(

It may be worth asking people in the various Northants list if they can help?

All best wishes

Hi Catherine

Knights eh? How exciting! Unfortunately both sides of my family lived particularly unglamorous lives - either working the land or making shoes. I search in vain for that elusive Royal connection!

Thanks for the Rootsweb tip.  I've found someone on there who is certainly researching the same branch of the family so have dropped them a line to see if anything comes up. You never know!

Once again, may thanks for your help.

Best wishes

Matt
