Haggart/McTaggart
« on: Thursday 08 November 07 05:17 GMT (UK) »
Hello to you all.

I'm looking for a birth date and place in abt 1797 for Christina/Christian Haggart

I have her death certificate 1877 Kilbrandon And Kilchattan listing her
as Christina McDermid, widow of Neil.
Father:James McTaggart Mother: Betsy McTaggart M.S McNab

Her marriage 1827 Kilmelford lists her as
Christian Haggart daughter of James Haggart (Miller)

I have tried a few mixes of the names, but can't find her.  Anyone able to help please?

Hi Raylen

I've tried Scotland's People with various wildcards but nothing am afraid. However do you know what religion they were because Scotland;s People only has OPR baptisms for Church of Scotland.

I have folks from round same area and they were Gaelic church so their records are not held by Scotland's People but by National Archives Scotland.

Is worth contacting them to see if they hold records for Argyll for the period you are looking for.

I haven't found anything either on IGI fraid

Hope this helps

Hello Ann,

Thanks for taking the time to look for me.
I thought I'd tried most variations on the names but it seems
I need to try some where else.
I'll do as you suggest and contact NAS.

Thanks again for your advice,

Raylen
