Stevenson 1851 census, Kilbarchan

Trying to trace my wifes GGF John Stevenson, b abt 1834 Kilbarchan.  John had a brother James.

Original line of enquiry via other family members led me to the Stevensons of Barnbeth, but no John appears in 1841 census.

However John, son of William and Rebecca of correct age appears at Linwood Village. They also had a son younger son James

If anyone is looking up 1851 census I'd be interested to find out any clues as to whereabouts of  John (age 17), and James (age 14)

can you just clarify a little into your john stevenson c1834

do you have any census details on john at all? anthing that we can work back on? death cert or marriage cert?

In the 1851 census for Ewing Street, Kilbarchan we have

James Stevenson,48, Occupation HLW Cotton  (Hand Loom Weaver)
Wife, Mary Stevenson,44. Occupation Pirnwinder.


Children
William ,23 , John 21, Jean 19 , Margaret 17, James 14 , Robert 9 , Mary 6 and Janet  2.

John and james are listed as HLW (Silk) the others apart from the youngest are HLW (Wool)
