Well, I thought it was known as the Blue Toon because you're always blue with the cold when you visit  but apparently...after a search...it's supposedly because of the blue worsted stockings originally worn by the fishermen.

Also, I was being polite using 'Aberdonian'...there is a very rude nickname...used most often by visiting footie fans...why? I don't know.
