Sligo/Riverside/St Johns 1911 Census
« on: Tuesday 13 November 07 14:42 GMT (UK) »
Hi, is anyone able to do a look up on the 1911 census please.
I am looking for the family of John & Kate Calderbank, and their daughter Eliza K, they had a son John in 1902, so he should appear on the 1911 census.  Many many thanks......

HelloTallulah At the moment there is only a small piece of 1911 census for Sligo. And there are no Calderbanks.
The 1901 Census you must have seen. I notice John was Born in England. in 1868.Have you tried getting any information on John in England.?
The child Kate Born in Leitrim. was 2yrs old in 1901. you should be able to get a birth cert for her.
                          Lep :)

Hi Leprechaun

Thank you for your reply, does this mean that the only way to check Sligo census for 1911 is to visit Sligo.  When you say small piece, where is this 'small piece?? Can't find anything on my ggf John Calderbank at the mo, as too many JC's born around that time in England. I will however apply for a birth cert for Eliza, although have no idea whatever happened to this child.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Tallulah ;)

Hi Tallullah,Dublin would be the best place for the census. The National Library of Ireland.
The small 1911 census I have was on my Data Base. Well the child we know was alive in 1901. The information on the Birth cert should give.
The date and place of Birth of child.
The Name and Sex.
The name, surname and dwelling place of father.
The name, surname, maiden name and dwelling place of mother.
The rank, profession,or occupation of the father.
That would be a big help to you.
If I can ever be of help just let me know Lep ;) :)

Hi Lep

I have today applied for Elizabeth Kate Calderbank birth cert, googled about a bit today and found Leitrim Heritage Centre and found her birth recorded there, cant find a marriage in Leitrim yet, nor a death for Elizabeth, so can only hope she grew to maturity.  My Grandfather was born in Sligo in 1902, so this family moved about a bit.

Thank you for all your help

The 1911 Irish Census might be available at www.familysearch.org depending on where you live. Check their catalogue and then contact your local LDS library to see if you order it (only a small fee) to view there.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
