Hi McVitie again, I take it that you have taken a keek at the 1841 census for Eigg. One family of seven McInnes and a McInnes dom. serv. in the next to one house in the community at Bray. (courtesy of Freecen)

Thanks for your posts - I had no idea that the islands were split between  2 different counties, although they are all near to Skye which is Inverness, but thanks for clariyfing.

Thanks for having a look at the Eigg census of 1841 - I will logon to that site and see if I can match up some names....would be great to pin point them down to their true birth place.
