i had a look today and the original house is still there. i tried to knock on the door but the gate was locked. i took these anyway. its a very nice old house, i hope you can see that on the pics

I feel like such an idiot. I sent the link for the pix to the different branches of the family that are in Australia and it appears one of my "cousins" still lives there. I was so embarrassed when she sent back a response that "Yup, that's the house, with a new coat of paint I put on it..." I guess in our email correspondence we had never exchanged actual addresses. Now I can send her a holiday card, though. Oh, and speaking of that, Perth or mods, can you take her address out of this thread. I guess we won't want that there.

I know, funny. Who knew. I didn't, and I have been in contact with her. And another relative in Australia who has been in contact had no idea either. The woman living in the house didn't mind. She thought it was pretty funny. I thank you for your effort. It was definitely appreciated.
