I am looking for info on John Pearce born in Limpsfield in 1798. I know he married a lady called Eleanor b abt 1809 in ? Beckenham. Can anybody help please.

This must be them I have a couple of Eleanor's in my tree that regularly appear on census returns as Helena, Ellen or Helen.  Not sure about Gibraltar though, either someone misheard or he was having a joke!

Incidentally a couple of doors away from John and Eleanor on the 1871 is a John Pearce, Head, 21 Brewer Labourer born Westerham with wife Sarah, 24 and son John.  Could this be the son who was 11 on the 1861?

It does say birth abt 1793 but this does not necessarily have to be correct.  The person reporting his death may not have known the exact year.
