Thank you so so much
I dont know where the children are either in 1851 but the query about
Mary Naylor.
I have her in 1871 Pontefract Dist 11 RG10/4636 at 131 Wool market as Mary Elizabeth or have I got the "wrong" one again?
Regards

Hi again,

I've just had a look for Mary Elizabeth Naylor b. Pontefract and William in 1861 and I think it's quite likely you have the wrong one .. .. it's getting quite late here .. I'll have another look tomorrow for you and see what turns up!  :)

Kind regards,

Pels  :)

His father was William Naylor b. 1820 m Mary Elizabeth Jackson

Marriage, Jun qtr 1839
William Naylor
Mary Ann Jackson
Pontefract, Vol 22, page 305

The above looks like the marriage for William and Mary Ann Naylor, same surname as yours, just different middle name for Mary.  :)

When I look at that marriage Harriet .. I'm not altogether sure the 1841 census details I supplied are correct?

At the time I was assuming George age 14 could have been the brother to William, hence them naming their first child after him .. ..

Hi Pels
Its so confusing is'nt it?They were'nt very adventurous when they named the children.
I'm just trying to sort all this out.I think I've mixed up the 2 williams. One was a Flax Weaver and one a Pipe maker.
I think "my William" is the Pipemaker although later as a Builinig Lab.George's Birth Certificate states 18th April 1840 then a time so presumably he was a twin.Mother Mary Ann Jackson father William Pipe Maker.
I also have a Marriage certificate for George January 9th 1864 to Ann Elizabeth Buck he was a Bricklayer and father William Pipemaker.Obviously Father and son but are they mine
What do you think?
Thank you
harriet

Just to double check Harriet .. ..

1891 census:
RG12/3761; Folio 31; Page 14

Yorkshire, Pontefract

William Naylor, b. Rawcliffe, age 71 with Mary Elizabeth

1881 census:
RG11/4590; Folio: 37; Page: 25

Yorkshire, Pontefract

William Naylor, b. Rawcliffe, age 61 with Mary E.
Occupation: Late Sack Weaver

1871 census:
RG10/4636; Folio: 33; Page: 27

Yorkshire, Pontefract

William Naylor, b. Rawcliffe, age 50 with Mary Eliz
Occupation: Sack Weaver

1861 census:
RG9/3438; Folio: 45; Page: 6

Yorkshire, Pontefract, Tanshelf

William Naylor, b. Rawcliffe age 40 with Mary E.
Occupation: Flax Weaver

1851 census:
HO107/2330; Folio: 205; Page: 14;

William Naylor, b. Rawcliff age 30 with Mary E.

All the above are the census returns for William Naylor married to Mary Elizabeth .. I'm convinced now you were on the wrong trail .. what a shame!  :(

I would say the above certificates are the right ones Harriet - they certainly fit in with the census information for William, Mary Ann and son George in 1851:

1851 census:
HO107/2358; Folio: 265; Page: 2;

Yorkshire, Howden
Hailgate

William Naylor, h. mar, 39, Bricklayers Lab, b. Howden
Mary Ann, wife, 29, b. Knottingley
George, son, 10, Scholar, b. Knottingley
Sarah Ann, dau, 8, b. Howden
John, son, 3, b. Howden

The family are living next door to the same family George was apprenticed to in 1861!

Regards,

Pels :)

At least now you are finally on the right track!  :D

Kindest regards,

Pels  :)
