Newbie here, advice welcomed
« on: Wednesday 21 November 07 09:04 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I've only recently started tracing my family history and so as not to get too bogged down in information, I have decided to start with my father's family. I have, however already hit a potential brick wall ??? . I have posted two messages on the Gloucestershire forum which I will copy below:

I am trying to trace the baptism record for Thomas Burfoot born in Bristol  c.1811. He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Randall in 1831. A relative of mine is following a lead with a Thomas Burfoot born 1770's - 80's who married Mary Richards in 1841. He was formerly married to Ann Burfoot who died in 1839. Any information on either, or any other known relatives would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

cb1964

I am trying to track the descendent's of the following:

Joseph Burfoot: Bapt. Temple Parish, Bristol 13/10/1805
Eliza Burford: Bapt. St. James Parish, Bristol 4/12/1808
Hannah Burford: Bapt. St. Philip & Jacob, Bristol 18/2/1827 (aged 12 years)

The parents are listed as Thomas and Ann Burfoot or Burford.

I also believe they may have had another child, Thomas (my G. G. Grandfather), born circa 1811/12 although I can find no entry in the local parish registers.

If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

CB1964

The only other information I have is that when Thomas married Mary Richards in 1841 his father is listed as Giles Burfoot.

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Hiya CB1964

Welcome to Rootschat!

Do you already have the census information on these people or do you want it looking it up?

Hi Willow

I have the census info on both of the Thomas Burfoots, but I cannot find a definite link between the two. If you can track any information on Thomas seniors children, it would be much appreciated.
