and can anyone help me with the brown family all born in slacks grove monaghan ireland

robert brown born abt 1764 married abt 1788/9 died before 1823 in guernsey ohio
his wife was esther born abt 1768

isabella brown born 1790
samuel brown born 1804
andrew brown born 1805
robert brown born 1809
william brown born 1811
james brown born 1812
isabella brown born 1814
joseph brown born 1821

i am trying to find out when the family moved to guernsey ohio usa and did all the kids go with them as i have andrew brown getting married in ireland in 1839.. and i have james brown getting married in ireland in 1849.. and joseph brown getting married in 1851 in girvan in scotland

Hello William,

I've linked your brown and mccaskie familys thread to this one.

The Brown family are listed on the Ancestors of Dennis Gene HERRE page.

Slack's Grove is not mentioned on the thecore.com/seanruad IreAtlas site. I think it may have been part of an estate but that needs to be confirmed. Have you been in touch with the County Library Headquarters to see if they have any details on Slack's Grove ... Clones Branch Library & County Library Headquarters, The Diamond, Clones

Slacksgrove is now widely known as "Hollywood" & the lake, previously known as Slacks Lough is also known as Hollywood.  The Browns you refer to are listed in the Church Records of Tydavnet Parish Church and descendants still lived at Slacks Grove until the 1960s.  Arlie & George Brown were the last two Browns to leave the area & both settled in Lisburn, County Antrim.  George is still alive & I spoke to him about two years ago.  You can contact me directly on (*)  or via this website.
I have been responsible in motivating a Team to copy the Church Records of ELEVEN North Monaghan Records which are now on CD & available.
