Hi Maryanbilly1

Welcome to Rootschat!  :)

I have moved your request to the look-ups board where you should get a better response.

Do you have some dates for this lady - maybe some census references?

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

The   house   was   named   Ashe   Lodge    after   themselves.    When   they    moved    in    it    probably    had   a
difficult to   spell   /or   pronounce   Manx    Gaelic    name   &   like    many   more   English   people   they   didn't   like
it.   I  wonder   what   it's   called   now-----I   shall   keep   my     eyes   open.

Hi Voirrey M

That's interesting - are you related to the family too?

It would be great to link two parts of the same story.

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

No    not    related  .   I    was    making   an   assumption   why    they   changed   the   name.   I    drive   past    the
area    frequently   but    do    not    as    yet    know    the    house.    Most   properties   will   have   been    tiny   cottages
or   farmhouses    in    a     very    rural   parish.   There   were    lead   mines   at    Foxdale  just   a very  few   miles
away.
