Belfast's horse drawn trams are mentioned on a page of BBC Radio Ulster's "Your Place and Mine" programme.

George Starbuck, an American coach builder, established a factory in Birkenhead solely for building tramcars. The British Horse Tram Enthusiasts website has a short article about him

Horse Trams from Cheltenham to Sandringham

The Douglas Bay Tramways, on the Isle of Man, were started in the 1870s by a civil engineer named Thomas Lightfoot was born on 4th November 1814 at Carbrook, near Sheffield.

When Dublin's horse drawn trams ceased functioning in 1901 they were replaced by electric trams. The Irish Transport Genealogical Archive was established  in 1976 by CIÉ and the IRRS.

The first car in Exeter on the 6th April 1882 from the Bude Hotel, Sidwell Street, to St Lukes College. The last horse drawn tram ran on the 4th April 1905

The horse trams started in Glasgow on 19th August, 1872. Glasgow Corporation's Horse Tram began in 1894.

Nottingham trams which started in 1878 were drawn by horses. The trams in the city were electrified in 1902.
